Watertalk

Watertalk

In the WATERTALK we will explore what urban development, the design of our living and working environment and the local production of food and energy can look like if you link it to the water challenge – too much, too little, too dirty – and our water footprint.

The goal of WATERSCHOOL M4H+ is to increase the awareness of our enormous water footprint and what we can do about it. What will the landscape look like if we take water as the starting point for an area development in the Rotterdam city port of Merwe-Vierhavens (M4H), where some 6,300 people will soon be living? What will they need in terms of raw materials and food? WATERSCHOOL M4H+ shows the result of the research that Studio Makkink & Bey has done over the past 2 years in M4H, commissioned by IABR.

With Henk Ovink – water envoy of the Netherlands, Jurgen Bey – Studio Makkink & Bey, Mark IJzerman – audio visual designer, Maartje Dros – Studio Klarenbeek & Dros and Eliza Scholtens & Emma Raijmakers – Flip the City. Moderated by Saskia van Stein – IABR.

The talk will be in English. Join us live at Atelier NL, Bergmannstraat 76, 5615 KG Eindhoven or streaming. We will get you the streaming link via our social media and website. The event is free; please let us know if you want to join us by sending an e-mail to pr@studiomakkinkbey.nl, as the number of seats is limited.
