Heineken Wobo

by John Habraken

After seeing poverty on the island of Curaçao, Alfred Heineken invited the Dutch architect John Habraken to design a beer bottle that would solve the problem of decent housing. He made the the ‘WOBO’, for ‘World Bottle’, a brick that holds beer. The empty WOBO could be used to build affordable houses, by interlocking and self-aligning.
