ESTUARY OF RIPTIDE AND REUNION
As an an adversary for the abundance
of the hidden flora in the waters of the Oosterschelde, this aquatic herbarium shows off its biodiversity. This natural richness The Netherlands has to offer paradoxically comes with our competitive Dutch mind, researching possibilities the sea has to offer; for example designing with the aquacultivated seaweed Sacharina, creating biopolymers, and from fabric, to food for cattle, humanity seems to find new ways to feed the planet. One the one hand a hopeful approach, on the other, it seems that we have to retreat from land to sea, to broaden our territory. Revealing this message, both cultivated and local seaweeds ecosystem cohabit this canvas.
